About the KDP-120
The KDP-120 captures the beautiful sound of Kawai’s Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand, a highly acclaimed concert grand used by many professional pianists at prestigious events and international competitions.
Each of the 88 notes has been recorded meticulously and analysed, then faithfully reproduced using Harmonic Imaging technology.
The Kawai KDP-120 has the brand new Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard which brings the distinctive touch of a grand piano to your home digital piano. The highly regarded RH keyboard action uses its spring-less technologies and sturdy construction to deliver all the nuance found when playing an authentic piano. Each key is appropriately graded with weighted keys to simulate the heavy feel of the lower bass hammers and lighter weight of the treble. This detail helps preserve a solid stability during fortissimo, while preserving the delicate pianissimo control, making playing even more enjoyable and satisfying for players of all levels.
The KDP-120’s Spatial Headphone Sound, which enhances the depth and realism of the instrument by providing 3 different acoustic presets, reduces fatigue when using headphones. This digital piano gives you the best of a home grand piano experience even through long play sessions at any time of day.
Voices and Features
To match the highly regarded sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX Concert grand piano, Kawai’s Grand Feel Pedal System uniquely replicates the weighting of the damper, soft and sostenuto pedals of the renowned concert grand.
The KDP-120 also offers a selection of additional voices including instruments like electric pianos, organs, harpsichord, vibraphone, and strings.
It also has a Dual playing mode which enables two voices as well as built in lesson function allowing aspiring pianists to study classical piano using the Czerny, Burgmüller, and Beyer etudes.
This digital piano has a lot of connectivity options such USB-MIDI ports that make it ideal to connect to your computer and use in a home studio for notating compositions. Its dual headphone socket makes this piano practical for teaching enabling both teacher and student can connect their headphones and study together.
Bluetooth MIDI technology enables this digital piano to connect with smart devices. Once paired with a phone or tablet you have access to even more functionality as well as education, performance and scoring apps.
Kawai PianoRemote app is freely available. The PiaBookPlayer app can also be used with the KDP-120.
Design and Colour
Energy conservation has been carefully thought about. The KDP uses over 60% less electricity than previous models. Energy-efficient components have been used as well as an optional power saving feature that can turn off the piano automatically after set amounts of time, thus preventing unnecessary power usage.
It is available in black and dark rosewood.
